How it works for a product reel

    Post the product, name a keyword

    In the reel or caption: “Comment SHOES and I’ll DM you the link.” Pick a word people will not type by accident.

    Point an automation at that post

    Choose the reel, add the keyword, write a short DM and add a button with your affiliate link. Up to three buttons if you are linking several products.

    They comment, the link lands in their inbox

    The DM goes out within seconds. The button opens your affiliate link, and the tap is counted on your Automations and Analytics pages.

Know which products actually get clicked

Tracked link buttons

Each button link goes through a short Talkspike redirect that counts the tap, then sends them on to your exact link. Your affiliate parameters are kept as you wrote them.

Clicks and CTR per automation

The Automations page shows clicks and CTR for every automation, and Analytics shows them side by side, so you can compare one product reel with another.

Several products, one DM

A DM can carry up to three buttons, such as “Shoes”, “Watch” and “Bag” from one outfit reel.

Old reels keep earning

Point an automation at all your posts and every reel, old and new, answers the keyword. A comment can be answered up to 7 days after it was made.

Before you start

  • Your Instagram account must be Business or Creator. Personal accounts have no API access.
  • Disclose affiliate links the way ASCI guidelines and your affiliate programme ask, in the post and, if you like, in the DM text.
  • Each person gets one DM per post by default. A comment allows one private reply; more messages need them to reply first.
  • Use the link your affiliate programme gives you. Talkspike does not create or shorten affiliate links for the programme.
